Recent petroleum permit changes
20 February 2004 - Christchurch-based Kenham Holdings Ltd has been awarded its 12th coal seam gas permit, PEP 38226 in Western Southland.
The coal seam gas permit covers a 601 sq km up the Waiau River to an area adjoining the Ohai coalfield. Kenham now holds seven coal seam gas permits in the Southland-Otago region.
Also petroleum exploration permit 38760 in onshore South Taranaki near Patea has been surrendered. Todd Petroleum Mining Co Ltd drilled Patea East-1 well in the permit last year.
