Change of closing date for the Northland Block Offer
27 July 2009 -The Minister for Energy, Gerry Brownlee, today announced that the closing date for the Northland Block Offer had changed to Wednesday 18 August 2010.
The closing date for the Northland Block Offer has been extended due to new data becoming available.
With this new seismic data available (from the end of 2009) the consensus from potential bidders was for the Northland Block Offer closing date to be delayed by about 6-8 months to allow this data to be incorporated into their understanding of the area. There are no other changes to the blocks on offer.
The 2009 seismic survey over Reinga and Northland is an exclusive/non exclusive survey jointly undertaken by Crown Minerals and CGG Veritas. A selection of data will be released by Crown Minerals in late 2009 and additional data will be available for lease from CGG Veritas at that time.
