Crown Minerals Openfile Metallic Minerals Geochemical Database now available

25 November 2009 - Crown Minerals has established a mineral exploration database compiling much of the historical and recent open file geochemical data collected in New Zealand for the past several decades.

The Crown Minerals geochemical database compiles much of the open file metallic mineral geochemical data collected in New Zealand over the past several decades. This dataset has been compiled in order to improve the accessibility of open file data stored in the many Mineral Reports held in the Crown Minerals technical database.

Currently, explorers wishing to evaluate the prospectivity of a particular area must piece together multiple files of digitally submitted data, or endeavour to digitise historical data themselves, often at great expense. The Crown Minerals geochemical database is intended to improve efficiency by acting as a first point of call for explorers wishing to evaluate a particular prospect as part of a desktop evaluation, prior to the submission of a prospecting, exploration or mining permit application, or to simply add to their existing geochemical data.

The Report and Data is now available from the Online Technical Database.
